Sustainable steps in the extrusion hall: LED lighting and energy awareness
In the extrusion hall, we are making significant strides in sustainability. The fluorescent lamps are being replaced with LED lighting, a more efficient and environmentally friendly choice. This location was selected because of the 5-shift system, which means that there are always people present and the lighting is continuously on. Therefore, the switch to LED can have a considerable impact here.
These investments are part of a multi-year program by CF Kunststofprofielen to save energy. However, besides technical solutions, there is another important factor: behavior. By using energy more consciously, we can collectively make a significant contribution. This means:
In addition to the lighting, we are also investing in new pumps. In weeks 14 and 15, 15 pumps will be installed on several extrusion lines. These pumps offer more precise control than the old models, resulting in an electricity consumption saving of up to 50%.
- Turn off the lights when you leave the room.
- Lower the heating by one degree.
- Turn off screens when you're not using them.
And much more.
